1. Just because you have low boost does not mean you are in "safety boost" mode. There are a lot of causes of low boost, but the term gets overused. Safety boost is a function of the ECU-- if you dont get any codes it is unlikely (not saying impossible) to be in safety mode. If you are truly in safety mode, the most likely culprit is the detonation circuit, but you would get a code 34. 2. What are your modifications? Is the list in your profile complete? If you have upgraded injectors you definitely do not want to run stock ecu settings. 3. Have you ruled out boost leaks? What about vacuum leaks? If not, thats where you might want to start. 4. If your fuel filter was that clogged up to cause a lean problem, what other areas of maintenance have been neglected?
